18.00 Opening Ceremony
Camerata

The Opening Ceremony will take place in the beautiful Saint-Giles Church in the northern part of Bruges. This will be a very serene and formal moment, in the presence of international, national and local officials.
We are very proud to have Camerata Aetas Nova amongst us for the musical intermezzo, while they have been elected Choir of the Year ! Our own LCI2010 committee member Isabelle Lievens (responsible Tours & Pre Tours) makes part of this wonderful singing team.

Saint-Giles Church
The Saint-Giles Church is a 15th-century building. Inside are remarkable paintings, a 17th century designed pulpit, several oak confessionals (1720), beautiful decorated glass windows and a wooden statue of the patron saint of this monumental church, St. Giles.
The main organ is considered one of the best in the city.

19.00 Welcome Parade
Parade Let's parade through Bruges ! After the Opening Ceremony all countries will line up in alphabetical order (starting with LC Austria, finishing with LC Zambia) and walk from the north of the city straight through the centre to Old Saint John.
Imagine hundreds of ladies from all continents walking through the historical streets and places... This colourfull company will be guided by the LCI2010 committee members, dressed in medieval costumes. A traditional horse carriage - carrying the members of the LCI board - is going to precede the parade.
Tell us : don't you want to make part of this ?
Award Known as the Venice of the North, Bruges is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It was a justified motive that prompted UNESCO to include the entire historical city centre on the World Heritage list.
In 2008 Trip Advisor travellers voted Bruges a top World destination : "A beautiful town, it's like a fairy tale".

19.45 Welcome Party
Welcome Party  Once arriving at Old Saint John, the welcome party can start ! There will be delicious food and drinks, a live music band and two handsome discjockeys.
